Windows Mail (Vista)

 

  1. In Windows Mail, go to the Tools menu and click on Accounts
  2. Click on the Add button in the upper right.
  3. In the Select Account Type window, double-click on E-mail Account.
  4. In the Your Name window, type in the name, then click on Next.
  5. In the Internet E-mail Address window, type in your e-mail address, then click on Next.
  6. In the Set up e-mail servers window, choose POP3 for the Incoming e-mail server type,  and enter mail.dirtroadconnect.net for the next two boxes (Incoming and Outgoing mail servers). Make sure that the Outgoing server requires authentication is checked. Then click Next.
  7. In the Internet Mail Logon window, enter your full email address and password. And click Next.
  8. Congratulations you have successfully configured your email in Windows Mail, now click Finish.

Outlook Express

  1.  Open Outlook Express
  2. Go to the Tools menu, and then select Accounts.
  3. In the Internet Accounts window, select the Mail tab.
  4. If you already have an account setup, go to step #14. If you want to create a new account go to the next step.
  5. Click Add, and then select Mail from the next menu. The Internet Connection Wizard will open.
  6. Type your Display Name: this is the name that your recipients will see in the From field of e-mails that you send.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Type your e-mail address, and then click Next.
  9. Select POP3 from the “My incoming mail server is a … server” drop-down menu.
  10. Type your incoming and outgoing mail servers: mail.dirtroadconnect.net
  1. Click Next.
  2. Type your account name and password. NOTE: the account name is your entire e-mail address, including the @dirtroadconnect.net
  3. Click Next, and then Finish.
  4. Configure your Outgoing (SMTP) mail server:
    • Select your e-mail account from the list on the left and click on Properties.
    • Click on the Servers tab.
    • Check the last checkbox My server requires authentication.

Outlook 2002/XP

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Go to the Tools menu, and then select Accounts from the top menu.
  3. If you want to create a new account go to step #5. If you already have an account setup, click on View or change existing account radio button then click Next.
  4. Select the account to be edited and click Change…go to step #10.
  5. Click on Add a new e-mail account radio button and then click Next.
  6. Click on the POP3 radio button then click Next.
  7. Fill out the Your Name field: this is the name that your recipients will see in the From field of e-mails that you send.
  8. Type your actual e-mail address.
  9. Type your incoming and outgoing mail server: mail.dirtroadconnect.net
  1. Type your Username and password: NOTE: the account name is your entire e-mail address, including the @dirtroadconnect.net suffix.
  2. Configure your outgoing (SMTP) mail server:
    • Click More Settings.
    • Click the Outgoing Server tab, and check the box next to the “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” field.
    • Select the radio button next to “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”.

Microsoft Outlook 2000

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2000.
  2. Go to the Tools menu, and then select Accounts from the top menu.
  3. In the Internet Accounts window, click Add, and then select Mail.
  4. In the Display Name field, enter the e-mail address that your recipients will see in the From field of e-mails that you send, and then click Next.
  5.   Enter your full e-mail address in the field labeled E-mail address, and then click Next.
  6. Select POP3 from the Incoming Mail Server menu.
  7. Enter your incoming and outgoing mail server: mail.dirtroadconnect.net
  1. Type your Username and password, and then click Next. NOTE: the account name is your entire e-mail address, including the @dirtroadconnect.net suffix.
  2. From the 3 connection choices, choose the connection type to the Internet. If you have a modem, check "Connect using my phone line." If you are connected to a network or to the Internet with Cable Modem or ADSL, check "Connect using my local area network (LAN)." If you want to connect manually each time, choose the last option.
  3. Configure your Outgoing (SMTP) mail server:
    • Return to the Internet Accounts window by selecting the e-mail account you just created and selecting Properties.
    • Go to the Servers tab, and under Outgoing Mail Server, check the box that reads “My server requires authentication”.

Netscape Mail / Mozilla

  1. Open Netscape Mail or Mozilla.
  2. Select Edit – Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings… from the menu.
  3. Click on Add Account.
  4. Select the Email account radio button and click Next.
  5. Type your name in the field provided, as you want it to appear in the From: field of the emails you send.
  6. Type your email address in the Email Address field and click Next.

Select POP and type your incoming mail server in the Incoming Server field: mail.dirtroadconnect.net

  1. Type your email address in the Username field and click on Next.
  2. Type a name for this account or leave it as is and click on Next.
  3. Click on Finish.
  4. Select Outgoing Server (SMTP) from the list on the left.
  5. Configure your Outgoing (SMTP) mail server:
    • In the Server Name field type your outgoing mail server. (Same as Incoming Mail Server)
    • Check the Use name and password checkbox.
    • Type your email address in the Username field.

    Eudora

    1. Open Eudora.
    2. Go to the Tools menu and select Options.
    3. In the Options window, you will see several icons on the left. Select the Getting Started option.
    4. In the Real Name field, type your name as your recipients should see it in the From field of e-mails that you send.
    5. In the Return Address field, enter your email address.
    6. In the Mail Server (Incoming) field, enter your incoming mail server: mail.dirtroadconnect.net
    1. In the Login Name field, enter your entire e-mail address
    2. In the SMTP Server (Outgoing) field, enter your SMTP or Outgoing mail server. (Same as Incoming Mail Server)
    3. There should be a check in the Allow Authentication field. Leave the check there. If you do not see a check in the box, click on the box with your mouse until a check appears.
    4. Select the Checking Mail icon from the left panel:
      • Check the Save Password box.
      • Secure Sockets when Receiving – set this option to Never.
    5. Select the Sending Mail icon from the left panel and adjust the following settings:
      • Email address – your complete email address should be specified here.
      • Domain to add to unqualified addresses – leave this field blank.
      • SMTP server - Same as Incoming Mail Server
      • SMTP Relay Personality – set this option to None.
      • Allow Authentication – check this box.
      • Immediate send – optional.

      MACINTOSH EMAIL CLIENTS:

     

    Mac OS X Mail

    1. Start by opening up the Macintosh Mail program.
    2. Select the Mail menu from the top navigation bar, and then select Preferences.
    3. In the Accounts window, click Add Account in the upper right-hand corner of this window.
    4. Select the Account Information tab.
    5. Click on the Account Type pull-down menu and select POP.
    6. In the Description field, enter a brief description that will help you quickly identify this e-mail account.
    7. Enter your full e-mail address (including the @dirtroadconnect.net suffix) into the Email Address field.
    8. In the Full Name field, enter the name you would like your recipients to see in the From field of e-mails that you send.
    9. Type your incoming mail server: mail.dirtroadconnect.net
    1. In the User Name field, enter your full e-mail address again (including the @yourdomain.com suffix). 
    2. Enter the password for this e-mail account into the Password field.
    3. Select the Outgoing Mail Server pull-down menu.  If you have no servers added yet, select Add Server.  If you have an outgoing server set-up already that you’d like to edit, select the server name using the pull-down menu and then click the Options button found immediately beneath the menu.
    4. Type your Outgoing Mail Server. Same as Incoming Mail Server.
    5.  Now, select the Advanced tab.
    6. Click the Enable this Account check box. This will allow you to be able to send and receive mail on this account. Make sure that the incoming mail port is set to 110 and that the Authentication field is set to Password.
    7. Click OK to complete setting up your e-mail.

    Outlook Express

    1. Start by opening Outlook Express.
    2. Select the Tools menu from the top navigation bar, and then select Accounts.
    3. Click on the New tab. The Account Setup Assistant should now open.
    4. In the Display Name field, enter the name you would like your recipients to see in the From field of e-mails that you send.
    5. Click on the right arrow to continue.
    6. In the E-mail Address field, enter your full e-mail address.
    7. Click on the right arrow to continue.
    8. Select POP from the “My incoming mail server is a(n) … server” drop-down menu.

    Type your incoming and outgoing mail server: mail.dirtroadconnect.net

    1. Click the right arrow to continue.
    2. In the Account ID field, type your account name. NOTE: the account name is your entire e-mail address, including the @dirtroadconnect.net suffix.
    3. Type your password in the Password field.
    4. Click on the right arrow to continue.
    5. In the Account name field, enter your full e-mail address, including the @dirtroadconnect.net suffix.
    6. Click on Finish, and your e-mail client is now configured.
